How To Wear Hiking Sandals For Him
According to the British GQ, hiking sandals are a major trend for summer 2019. And if you are one of the dudes who wants to wear this trend, here are a few ways to do so:
Yes, your hiking sandals can be fun. Or printed. To go with it I picked an extreme short shorts that is by the way another trend for summer, but you can wear any shorts you like. The same goes for your top. I suggested a henley but any t-shirt, shirt would be fine.
Extra accessories that you may or may not wear: a casual watch and a hat. Why not?
Another collarless shirt. This time the short is a little longer and in a more dressed up vibe. And yes, it is pleated. But you can wear one with no pleats as well. The hiking sandals are a little dressier but still casual.
Same accessories, just because.
And yes, you could wear a nice brown belt. But bear in mind that is perfectly okay to forget about them. Even when your shorts have belt loops.
Just adding a black leather jacket in case it gets a little cold. Global warming and all.
Here the idea is go basic with khakis and a crisp white shirt (it could be cotton or linen or mix of both), the dressier sandals version, the hat and a leather watch, that is a bit dressier than the casual watch, btw.
You can totally wear a more casual (and weird) version of the hiking sandals in black and bet on a dark grey jogger to go with it. A tee that resonates with you and a casual to watch.
And yes, you can add the same black leather jacket, if you need.
The basic straight jeans with another white shirt and hat. Of course that your shirt could be in any color you fancy. Obviously. And this basic look could be the perfect base to wear a dressier hiking sandals or a more casual and fun one.
Up to you.
How about to wear a dressier trousers, dark with both sandals: a more casual one and a dressier one? Here I am keeping the top casual with a collarless shirt and a basic tee but a crisp shirt could be your choice.
And finally a suit and a polo with your dressier hiking sandals. The watch is the leather one to keep things up. A little. And yes, the polo could be replaced by any top, even a tank top. And yes, a polo could be the top of any of the other looks above.
A very important remainder: Regardless the sandals you intend to wear bear this in mind: if you are showing your feet, nails and toes, they gotta be in a great shape, looking and smelling good. Therefore, keep your nails trimmed, with no fungus or anything else alike it, keep your toes and feet moisturizer with no cracking or anything disgusting showing up. And of course, make sure it smells good. Please. 🙏
Another very very important reminder: don’t ever, ever wear socks with yours. Please!🙏🤣
6 Ways To Wear Platform Sandals
According to Vogue US, platform sandals are the shoes for this summer. Well, I’m not going to be one of the people who are embracing this trend cause it is too high for the menopausal me, but for those ladies who are going for it, here are a few ways to rock it:
An easy way to do it is to pair the platform with wardrobe staples, like a jeans skirt and a chambray shirt. And yes, you could do the denim with denim combo or add some other color to your chambray shirt, like a light pink. The platform could be any color, but a brown one is always a sure bet. So, a brown bag. And yes, you can mismatch the bag and the sandals, wearing leather platforms and suede bag. Or vice-versa.
And your favorite sunnies could close the deal. Yep, I intentionally left the belt out. Cause you don’t have to wear one, if you don’t want to.
In this mid-skirt and sweater look you could go safe with a brown platform sandals or fun with a floral or printed one. A burgundy bag to add some color but still within the neutral palette.
And again, some sunnies to play along.
You can also take the boho lane and bet in a flowing top with long necklace or necklaces, a flare jeans, a statement stoned ring and your favorite sunnies. Here the staple brown platform and brown bag.
And yes, you can wear brown bags and/or shoes/sandals and go for a black sunnies. No problem at all.
You can also wear a dressier but not that much dress in white and a printed or in living color platforms. And a small bag in a neutral shade. Because you don’t need to mix and match shoes/sandals and bags. All you have to do is coordinate them. Make sure they complement each other.
Here a two dressed up looks: one with a cocktail dress and the other with a jumpsuit. Both red. But it could be in any color. Black, included. The platform is mix of silver and gold, the perfect match to any dressier look.
The bag is a small one, dressy but not all the way. To give a high-low vibe.
How To Wear A Fanny Pack For Him
I must confess that looking around for some Okay inspirations for this post was a very hard task. And it was because, let’s face it, fanny pack for men is not the most alluring accessory. And yet, I got some examples to give you an idea on each fashion road to take if you want to wear one and
almost get away with it.
To be super duper honest again, the best way to wear a fanny pack is not around your hips or waist; it is around your torso. Front way or back way.
Those are the best ways.
But if you want to wear it around your hip or waist anyways… then consider wearing a fanny pack in the same color or your pants/shorts and your t-shirt or shirt like this all black look. It could also be an all gray look.
Another possibility is to wear your fanny pack like the other dude: with a shirt or t-shirt covering the belt and leaving just the bag part exposed. It could work.
But keep this in mind: a fanny pack might just not be your thing. And this is Okay. Don’t insist. Move on and away from it. Trust me. It is the wise thing to do.
How To Wear A Fanny Pack For Her
When I was writing the title I misspelled for Funny Bag and after that I thought it was called a Funny Pack. Hehehe But let’s be honest, it is a funny little bag, indeed.
And yes, although the fanny pack is highly practical is not the most flattering bag to wear. For most people. For some, it could actually look even cool. And this was the case for one TV character: Fiona Glenanne (played by Gabrielle Anwar). Back then when Burn Notice was on the air (from 2007-2013) and the fanny pack was still a major fashion no-for-Christs-sake-no, she rocked the funny pack. Or should say hip bag? Because sometimes, maybe for a cooler approach the funny pack is referred as a hip bag. Because that is exactly what a fanny pack is, after all. At least in Fiona’s way. 😉
But anyways, going back to Fiona, if by any chance you want to give a go to this current trend of wearing a fanny pack (that is again a fashion must-have, if you don’t know yet), look for Fiona’s looks for major inspiration. Up to now I have never seen someone wearing a fanny pack (or a hip bag) better than she does. She makes it cool, fashionable, sexy, alluring. Even back then I thought so. And I still do nowadays looking back to her looks. She is my inspiration when I try to make a funny pack wearable. Check for yourself if I am right or not:
She makes casual look sexy with a splash of boho vibe. And of course that you can lower the short/skirt/dress hems till it meets your comfortable zone. Or just bet on your favorite pair of bootcut/flare jeans and a wedge with basic so-you t-shirt or a boho flowing top to rock it. In Fiona’s way.
And last but not least: the kind of fanny pack you choose is highly important. Her favorite fanny pack is very stylish leather one. Take a visual note of it.

6 Ways To Wear A White Sneakers For Him
And again, yes, that is a much better stylish idea to wear a white sneaker that is flat rather than the ones a bit higher like a running sneaker. Just like the ones in the looks below. Check it out:
With a khaki chino and a denim shirt. And yes, here a brown belt is the perfect bet. You could have left the belt out of the look as well. And yes, although it is great to leave a bit of skin between the sneaker and the pants, you could have picked pants that would cover it all.
The nest look it is an all dark look with a little bit of light splashes via shirt. And yes, the shirt could also be dark for an all dark look.
The third look is a more tailored pants in a light shade of gray and a no collar shirt. Of course that a standard collar shirt could be used instead but this one is also an option. Keep that in mind.
Those are more dressier looks. A tailored pants and a blazer with a stripped t-shirt. Classic, straight to the elegance point.
The next one involves a suit. In this case with no tie. But of course you could wear one. A slim tie would be a better option but any tie would be possible. Really. But a pocket square is also a good accessory. With or without the tie.
The other look is an all-black look with a coat and turtleneck. Elegant, understated and yet dramatic by the black and white contrast. Actually, the all-black and white sneakers is one of my favorite looks to sport the white sneakers.
6 Ways To Wear A White Sneaker For Her
And yes, a white sneaker that is flat has a more street vibe than the ones a little bit higher made for running or other exercises. They look more polished and put together.
Having said that, here are 6 ways to wear your white sneakers
With that perfect summer dress. Printed or in a solid color. Short, midi or maxi. Flowing or more body conscious. The same can be said to skirts. They all could make a great duo with a white sneaker.
And yes, the look here is pretty casual but you can give a little upgrade on it. Just have a look at the looks below:
Those looks are a little bit dressier than the ones before but still pretty much casual. The skinny jeans, the tapered cuffed/cropped pants, the leggings… all great options to rock the white sneakers. Other pants like tailored ones, bootcuts and straight pants are also a possibility.
On the top, tunics, flowing tops, sweaters, t-shirts, blouses, camis and shirts are good options. Cardigans, blazers, coats and jackets are all welcome.
One good idea is to pair your white sneaker with an all black look. It gives a chic, dramatic vibe. Or a look with all light shades that makes a much more smooth look, but quite elegant.
Take your pick.
Style Rule 8: Let The Mirror Be Your Friend
How? Consulting with your mirror every time you go out of your home. Checking your look from front, sides and back. Head to toe. Still and moving. Checking if everything is fine, flowing properly. If there isn’t anything missing like a button or if there isn’t anything weird going on. And if the whole look suits you and the occasion you are heading to.
And you can also consult with it when you try something new, at a store. Obviously. And always check front, sides and back. Head to toe. Still and moving.
If you do it and listen to it, then the mirror will be your best friend on that.
